Exploring Holland’s History through it’s Historic Sites
Have you ever been to Holland? Holland is full of historic places to visit. One such place is the Anne Frank House; home to Anne Frank and her famous diary. Anne Frank was somebody we remember in history during the Second World War. She had to live a secret life in hiding to survive, and this is the house where she lived. By visiting the Anne Frank House you will get a deeper feeling of what happened to her back then. But if you prefer something a little different you can try the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra, for a chance to hear one of the most outstanding orchestras. The Concertgebouw was built in the late 19th century. You can explore the Jordaan; the neighborhood is Amsterdam’s Greenwich Village. It has narrow alleys with little specialty shops just waiting to be explored. There are leafy canals along with houses from the 17th century to see. Just take a relaxing stroll along these streets and soak in the history of Holland. The Begijnhof is a must see if you are ever in Holland. The history of the churches alone is enough to make you want to keep coming back to visit. The area is peaceful, and it is away from all the stuff going on in the streets. You enter Begijnhof through a door like you were going into a house, but then everything changes in appearance. It’s like you are in another place. Instead of the noisy Amsterdam area, you find a quite English town with ladies having tea. The Museum Het Rembrandthuis or the Rembrandt House is the location where Rembrandt lived and worked from 1639-1658. This museum pays tribute to his life and work. These are just a few of the historical sites you can expect to find in Holland.Take a look here to learn more: Adventurous Amsterdam – Amsterdam, Netherlands
